Don’t underestimate the value of video to help promote your business. You can use it in a variety of different ways. You can use it to demonstrate your expertise by talking with a previous client in a one-to-one case study session, or to talk about problems which your business can address, or perhaps demonstrate how to use a product you sell.
It's fresh and it lets your clients get to know you and your business and find out what you’re all about. Live video streaming has been successful for Periscope and now Instagram and it’s easy to see why. It doesn’t have to be as daunting as you might think, and it could help you land new clients and help to illustrate more clearly why you’re worth doing business with.
Live is Better
It’s because there’s a certain spontaneity to live video sessions you won’t get with pre-recorded content. It’s an event when it’s live, and your audience can connect with you live, in real-time. The statistics show that it’s working so it’s high time you gave it a go and see the difference it can make to your business.
Why not give your clients a live tour of your business premises?
If you don’t want to be on camera yourself for the first few times, if you’re a little shy, then why not show your clients around your premises, whether it’s an office or a shop floor, or a factory. It’ll give your customers a real bird’s eye view of where you work and where your products or service are made/take place.
What you can also do with Facebook Live is livestream for 24 hours, using it to show what a working day in your business is like. It’s gives terrific insight into how your business works, how your service is created, how your products are made.
You can use the live feed to host a webinar, just make sure you plan well beforehand so you know what you’re doing. You don’t want live chaos, but an organised event, so plan carefully. However, Facebook does have some pretty sophisticated tools available, so a webinar doesn’t have to be complicated, keep that in mind.
You can stream live events from anywhere, perhaps you’re hosting a stall at a trade show somewhere. You could show how clients/customers respond to your products. If your product is food, and you’re at a food stall, show yourself cooking, preparing the food, and show people’s reactions to it.
Here are some other ways you can make the most of a live event:
Watch out for like emoji’s, hearts are good, but if there’s no reaction and no one watching then you may be doing something wrong
Ask your audience to use the invite button while the event is on so you’ll know how many have attended
Do some serious marketing beforehand, make sure you’ve let everyone know it’s happening, if you do get a poor turnout then perhaps not enough people knew it was happening. Use all avenues of social media if you can, that’s the best way by far of spreading the word.
We mentioned case studies earlier, well how about conducting interviews, you can do a case study in this way, or you can have a question and answer session. Ask your audience before they attend your event if they have any questions they’d like you to ask.
How about an online class? You can teach your audience about something you do as part of your business, it’s a great opportunity to show how skilled you are and how you’re an expert in your field. Make sure it’s something they’ll benefit from.
It could be anything from teaching them to play a musical instrument, not several lessons, but perhaps one or two tips to go over something complex. If you’re a web designer, how about demonstrating your skills in web design by hosting a teaching session where you pass on some tips and valuable pointers on how to improve.
Product or service launches – got something new to talk about? A live event is all it takes to get the news out there. Ask your audience for feedback, is it good, how could you improve it?
A really good way of engaging with your customers and can take your business from okay to huuuge. Try a live event, whether it’s to promote an existing product or service, help launch something new, ask questions or discuss client experiences, you’ll find it’s a great way to engage with existing clients and get some new ones.
